Fagus sylvatica purpurea - Copper Beech

Copper Beech. A magnificent specimen tree, the foliage bursts into an awesome deep purple in October, the leaves retain this colour until late Autumn when they turn a crunchy brown remaining on the tree tree throughout Winter. 
As a hedge, this plant is sensational. You can keep it at whatever height tickles your fancy, as low as 50cms or as high as 4m. I recommend a light trim in the late spring, say around late November or early December and then again in late February or early March. 
For maximum growth plant with a couple of our 12 month slow release fertiliser tablets, and continue to ferterlise every 12 months around Spring time with a general fertiliser. Just be sure not to plant this little guy in a spot that remains wet over the Winter.
